Keeping

I kept a group of this magnificent little frog in an Exo-Terra Terrarium measuring 60x45x45 cm. It is placed low in my room, to make sure, the temperature don’t rise to high.

The terrarium had a layer of LECA as a drainage layer – and on top of this, i have put a layer of dead leaves for hides and to make it look more natural. Larger hides are made of pieces of bark, layed on top of the leaves. The drainage layer is filled almost to the top with water, to ensure a high degree of humidity – besides of this, the terrarium is sprayed with rain-water every other day.

The back-ground is a piece of Cork-Bark cut into size, to fit the back completely. A single plant species is creeping the background of the terrarium.

Feeding

I feed my frogs three times a week. They are feed primarily with Drosophila hydei, but also sometimes with Drosophila melanogaster, pinheads from Gryllus bimaculatus, and springtails (Collembola)
